Preparations for RAAM
The entire RAAM crew has arrived in Oceanside, California and is hard at work getting everything ready for tomorrow’s launch of the world’s toughest endurance cycling race. Preparations include RAAM racer check-in and media, bicycle maintenance, and, of course, carbo-loading. Once Brett and the crew hit the road tomorrow at 4:36pm eastern/ 1:36pm pacific time, in a true endurance cycling test, they will power through the night before they stop for a break the following day. In order to have the energy to handle the 8,878 feet of climbing that the RAAM course throws at the riders before the first time station, Brett is loading up on carbohydrates with the help of enough noodles to feed a family!
